WHOAREWE?

Sommer Film Akademie is run by an exclusively volunteer team of filmmakers and filmlovers like you. Our team works to ensure that the annual program is a success.

WHATDOWEDO?

We bring together filmmakers of varying experience levels for two weeks to make and learn together. This intensive time includes learning through hands on workshops, developing material, and making films together.

SFA24 will choose 4-6 main projects to produce fully. All participants will work together, learning new skills and lending expertise, to bring these projects to life. Each participant will have the opportunity to try their hand at a variety of different roles and responsibilities during the filmmaking process.

We also offer supporting programs with a diverse range of offers to fit your level of experience and availability.

WHEREAREWE?

Welcome to "Görliwood" - home to the "German Hollywood". Our programs take place near the German-Polish twin city of Görlitz/Zgorzelec, a small city known for its mighty film productions with international flair.

Our home base is Kühlhaus Görlitz, an expansive and inspiring location brimming with creativity and possibility. Centring our activities here also provides us with an opportunity to pursue stories that speak to the local Neisse Euroregion and settlement area of the Sorbians.
